Title:               Application Administrator for Research Systems
Duration:       6 month+ contract in Cambridge, MA

Summary: The Application Administrator is a member of the IT Global Applications Management (GAM) Support organization. Information Technology’s Global Application Management’s (GAM) Support organization is the face of application support to system users worldwide. The goal is to help people that are using our more than 500 applications get answers to questions, resolve problems, and educate and support them to more effectively use the application. The Global Application Management organization is charged with supporting over 500 enterprise applications used by more than 7,000 employees throughout a truly global company.   The role will need to be competent with UNIX OS with a solid understanding of Cfengine and Centrify to manage Linux applications. Must also have Oracle DB experience and practical experience writing SQL. HPC (High Performance Cluster) experience to support Computational chemistry is highly desired.

Key responsibilities include:
·         Act as the primary point of contact for selected research scientific applications.
·         Act as the primary point for custom application database deployment and troubleshooting – work closely with infrastructure DBA on resolution.
·         Act as the primary point for Linux application deployment for Research – work closely with infrastructure Linux team to troubleshoot and isolate any application issues
·         Respond to customer incidents and requests in a timely fashion including customer requests for new transactions and changes to existing transactions.
·         Following existing department processes to configure changes in development, test, and production environments
·         Produce necessary change controls and documentation
·         Installation and configuration of software
·         Manage escalation activity between core customers and including IT Infrastructure, IT service center, and other 3rd party technical teams
·         Create and maintain IT knowledgebase articles and related information assets
Qualifications:
·         Must have solid, hands on experience with LINUX, UNIX OS and shell scripting
·         HPC (High Performance Cluster) experience to support Computational chemistry
·         Solid understanding of Cfengine and Centrify to manage Linux applications
·         Must have Oracle DB experience and practical experience writing SQL
·         Creating and modifying Kickstart file for Oracle Linux
·         Experience debugging scientific applications
·         Experience with Oracle Linux ( installing, troubleshooting SQL scripts, etc.)
·         Active Batch or other similar kind of scheduler tool is required
·         Must have previous experience producing high quality technical documentation
·         Some infrastructure experience with managing backups and failover preferred

Note: Cfengine, or the configuration engine is an agent/open source configuration management system and a high level policy language for building expert systems to administrate and configure large computer networks.

Summary: As a SharePoint Consultant you will be responsible for integrating collaboration and enterprise social capabilities into the solutions we deliver to our customers.  This role will provide a combination of understanding clients' needs, project management, requirements gathering, designing solutions using SharePoint, and change management.

In delivering this work, you will be expected to:
·         Manage projects and contribute to existing book of work, supporting site maintenance. Share best practices that apply across businesses and regions.
·         Proficient in designing SharePoint 2007 / 2013 Collaboration Sites.  Strong emphasis on graphic design (samples to be provided.)
·         Design business process solutions and graphically engaging SharePoint Collaboration Sites using out-of-the-box functionality and features (note: SharePoint Designer not utilized in our environment.)
·         Liaise, consult, and provide leadership to the stakeholders involved within the project, including the technology teams, the sponsoring businesses, and any external vendors
·         Provide effective guidance and counsel to SharePoint Site Users
·         Participate in the development and execution of adoption and change management plans which include: communication, training and support documents
·         Work independently and within a team structure and move ideas from concept to execution
·         Research and seek input from others as necessary in order to develop specific recommendations, strategic initiatives and or implementation plans

Qualifications:
ü  Excellent project management, customer service, organization and analytical skills with the ability to manage multiple activities simultaneously.  Familiarity with social media platforms and practices.
ü  Strong computer skills including MS Office and especially a demonstrated mastery of SharePoint 2007.  Knowledge of HTML, JavaScript and other scripting languages a plus.
ü  Communicate clearly, apply strong writing and presentation skills  
ü  Bachelor’s Degree required, Master’s Degree preferred.
